Holiday desserts are so fun to make – and they don’t have to be complicated at all! You can take an ordinary treat like brownies, add a few ingredients, and turn it into something festive for your events. That’s all it takes for these Peppermint Brownie Logs to be a hit at your holiday get togethers!
Peppermint Brownie Logs
If you already have your favorite brownie recipe, start by making them. Don’t have a favorite yet? No worries! You can use Nestle Toll House recipe for your brownie logs. Just make sure you line your pan with foil and grease it before pouring your batter in
- Your favorite brownie recipe, prepared and cooled completely
- 1 bag White Wilton Candy Melts
- 15 Crushed Peppermint Candies
- Ziploc Bag
Remove brownies from the pan and peel away the foil – the foil makes it so easy to come out in one piece! Place the brownie block on a cutting board and square off the corners, eating them while you work.
Decide how long you want your brownie logs to be. Mine are about 4 inches, the length of my knife, so I can cut the brownies in one single slice. Cut your smaller block into 3/4″ to 1″ brownie slices.
Place a heaping 1/4 cup of candy melts into a microwave safe bowl. Heat according to package directions until melted completely. You will need to do this 2-3 more times to finish all of the brownie logs, depending on how much you put on each. Doing it in 1/4 cup batches keeps your candy from drying out too soon!
Pour the melted candy into a ziploc bag.
Snip the corner of the bag and squeeze the melted chocolate on to the brownie logs. Sprinkle with crushed candy immediately. Let set until firm.
One 9×13 pan of brownies makes about 30-36 4″ long logs!
