I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Seventh Generation. I received a promotional item and product samples as a thank you for participating
Since expanding our family, James and I have become more aware of the need for safe products in our home. Before, we’d buy whatever was on sale. Now, we try to go for organic and toxin-free products so we aren’t exposing our two boys to anything hazardous. Just how far can we go to ensure they are safe?
Did you know that over 80,000 chemicals used in the United States today have not be properly tested for their effects on our health and environment?
With many harmful toxins being scientifically linked to major health risks like Alzheimer’s, asthma, cancer, and birth defects, just imagine what those that haven’t been checked out are doing to us!
I am teaming up with Seventh Generation to spread awareness for essential chemical reform needed in the US. Sure, we have the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), which was passed in 1976. However, unlike other major environmental laws, that bad boy hasn’t been updated since! This means there are likely thousands of toxins that have been in use since the 70’s still used (and therefore, bought by consumers) every single day.
Become a Toxin Freedom Fighter
To help raise awareness and hopefully get Congress to re-evaluate the Toxic Substances Control Act for the first time in over 35 years, become a Toxin Freedom Fighter! Sign Seventh Generation’s petition, and share it with all of our family and friends. Make sure everyone knows just how vital chemical reform is for ourselves and our children.
Seventh Generation’s goal for the petition is to have 100,000 signatures by April 24th. They will then deliver the signatures to Congress on April 30th. I’ve already signed and hope that you do by clicking the button above.
Becoming more aware has led to James and I making lots of changes. We are using mostly cloth diapers for our baby. We use natural cleaning products in our home. We strive to buy more organic products and less processed products filled with who knows what.
I would personally love to see more done to #FightToxins and their exposure to everyone, but especially to the defenseless children of our nation. I want my two boys to grow up in a whole where chemicals are banned to prevent them from becoming ill.
