The 2013 Winter Biannual Blogathon Bash ended at 8:00am EST this morning. If you didn’t see my kickoff post and aren’t sure what I am talking about, I participated in a 72 hour blogging marathon. It’s just a way to boost your productivity over the period of one weekend.
Each time the blogathon happens, I create a long to do list of things I want to get done. This time, I am very satisfied with all I accomplished! Of the 72 hours, I worked on blog-related tasks for 27 hours and 5 minutes! This was my third time participating, and this is by far the most time I have put into the Blogathon.
I was able to work blog on this blog and my new one, Basics4Bloggers!
So, what did I get done? Here’s my original to do list…I have crossed off the things I finished, and noted the ones I didn’t.
Southern Girl Ramblings
Write at least eight posts (that will get me though the 1 1/2 weeks!) Fill in my editorial calender for February.
- Brainstorm a post series I want to publish in February. Decided on a different one for March.
Come up with at least 5 new post ideas.I have about 10 new ones!
- Clean up the 404 errors on my site. Done some of this one.
Create a list of linkies and weekly writing prompts that I can join each week. Find a new backup plugin (my current one randomly stopped emailing me my backup daily). Return comments left on my posts.
Add the social media accounts to Hootsuite. Install the rest of the necessary plugins.
- Finish up 2-3 pages I want to add before launch. Finished all but one.
Write at least 3 posts. Brainstorm another at least 10 post ideas. Keyword research for proper SEO of posts.
- Begin planning about the first e-report I want to write.
Leave comments for other blogathon participants. Complete as many mini-challenges as I can. Organize my email inbox for Southern Girl Ramblings.
- Decide how I want to organize my new Blogging Planner and get it done! Did the review, will get to adding in my info this week.
Over the course of the weekend, there were other things added to the list….like starting blog tax stuff for last year, attending blogathon twitter parties, and more. Still, I was able to do those things and get this much of my original to do lists done, so I’m happy!
