We rely on frozen foods a good bit here. Frozen fruits and vegetables last longer than fresh, and they are often cheaper. With March being Frozen Fruit Month, I have teamed up with Wyman to celebrate and make some smoothies with their products fresh from the freezer!
Wyman’s of Maine has been in the fruit business ever since they started by growing wild blueberries in 1874, so they know their stuff when it comes to growing, harvesting and freezing fruit. Wild blueberries are native to Maine and the Canadian Maritimes where Wyman’s owns 10,000 acres of land. All their fruit is grown in an environmentally sustainable way with the interest of fresh fruit and care for the land. When properly stored, the shelf life of Wyman’s fruit can last up to two years, which is quite a long time to enjoy one harvest of frozen fruit. Wyman’s is available in the freezer section of a variety of retailers nationally.
Wyman’s Mixed Berry Smoothie
I’ve been celebrating Frozen Fruit Month with Wyman’s of Maine’s smoothie recipes! One of the recipes on their website I really like is their Mixed Berry Smoothie. It only calls for 4 ingredients, takes less than 3 minutes to make, and is very delicious!
1 cup Wyman’s Mixed Berries
1 cup fruit juice
6 oz. vanilla yogurt
Mix all ingredients in a blender and enjoy! My three year old son loves this smoothie too, especially with one of his crazy straws! They are certainly kid-friendly.
